Eats: Bambu Desserts & Drinks

I recently got the chance to try Bambu for the first time. OMG, I'm a fan! Basically, they specialize in Vietnamese desserts. But, unlike the Vietnamese desserts you get at a pho joint or Vietnamese restaurant, these are so much better and they're not too sweet either. I tried #1, 2, 6, and 10. They're all good, but my favorite was probably #6 and 10.

I went on a Tuesday afternoon and they were pretty empty. With my friend, we only waited for our desserts less than 5 minutes. It wasn't until I read on Yelp afterwards I found out this place gets crazy packed on weekends and in the evenings.

Side note: they can do take-out, just let them know when you order. Basically they separate the ice and put it in a plastic bag. You just have to get home quick or else the ice will start to melt.

Important: when you go there, bring cash! It's cash only establishment!

According to their website, they'll be opening several other locations soon -- one being in downtown at the Park Shops. Why there and not Midtown or Washington is beyond me. But, woohoo I don't have to drive all the way to Chinatown to get my fix!

Babies: Flying Nanny on Etihad Airways?

Has anyone flown Etihad Airways before? They caught my attention today with their Flying Nanny program. I can't wait to check it out for myself. I'm sure I'll have plenty of opportunity to fly with them as we'll be moving to the Middle East in the coming months.

Eats: Provisions

I tried Provisions for the first time earlier this year, right after I had my baby. I didn't realize it then, but my taste buds were still skewed from the pregnancy. I left thinking their food was just ok.

It took a while for me to return. Basically, my friend Patty and I made lunch plans sans babies, and we wanted to go some place nice. She's never been here before and I needed to give them another shot now that I have my taste buds back.

One word: yum! I can't wait to go back!

I saw a picture of this caesar wedge on Yelp and I had to have it. Wow! It's the best caesar salad I've had, to-date!

Delicious pizza, really good combination of ingredients!

Patty and I shared the salad and pizza so we'd have enough room for dessert... each! I ordered the beet cake. It was ok. I liked the beet cake and panna cotta combination, but the yuzu sherbet I didn't like much.

Parking in this area can be tricky. They have free parking in the back, but space is limited. If you park in the neighborhood, watch for signs. Some of the street parking is for residents only.

When they're busy, it can get really, really loud in there. I found I had to shout to chat with Patty.
